1.jpgOn the 26th March 2009, a fire started in our building housing the Chabad Mikvah in Edgware. The fire at the mikvah started Thursday afternoon and caused a damage of £50,000. The blaze at the mikvah started at 4pm and was attributed to a “breakdown in the electrical installation which services the mikvah”.  The fire was first seen by Rabbi Zalman Sudak, as he looked outside the window of the office he saw smoke climbing up from the shed. He immediately  alerted the fire services and were at the scene within 10 minutes but were unfortunately not able to save the shed that houses the mikvah.  The fire inspectors informed Rabbi Leivi Sudak, that all electrical installation was installed correctly and was an unfortunate electrical fault in the pump of the mikvah.
